Our Philosophy
"Doin' Nice Things For People And The Cars They Drive..." has been our philosophy and motto since we opened in 1979. We recognize our growth and success over the last 30 years and into the future is dependent on customer service and quality repairs. Our reputation in this community is a result of taking pride in providing our customers with the highest quality repairs and service. A large portion of our customers are either repeat customers or ones that have been referred to us by other satisfied customers. This is the greatest compliment that a business can receive and we put our efforts into maintaining this reputation.
There is absolutely no compromise when it comes to the safety of each vehicle repaired at T.A.C.S. This is our number one priority.
We also recognize that your vehicle represents a large investment. We will take care of this investment by doing repairs that return your vehicle to its pre-accident condition. When the time comes for you to sell or trade your vehicle, you will never be held back because of poor quality collision repairs.
You will be treated with courtesy and respect by all of our employees. We understand that you would rather not need the services of a Collision Repair Facility, but we will do everything to make your experience painless and worry free.
Company History and Shop Profile
T.A.C.S. The Auto Collision Specialists Inc. was originally founded in Glenmont, New York in 1979 by Erwin Ungerer. Mr. Ungerer, prior to opening T.A.C.S. had extensive experience at various dealerships in the Capital District. This small 2,200 square foot business soon gained a reputation for top quality collision repairs. T.A.C.S. quickly built a reputation for honesty and dependability and before long every insurance carrier in the upstate region soon recognized that T.A.C.S. was a fair and honest place to have their clients automobiles repaired.
Thirty years have passed and we are now a 5,500 square foot facility. At present there are a total of eight full time employees. The business continues to be a family owned and operated business with Erwin’s three sons, Matt, Kevin & Brian managing the facility on a daily basis. Each of them brings unique qualifications for top quality customer service, estimating, inspections, in addition to a deep knowledge of quality collision repair. We have highly trained technicians who are capable of all aspects of collision repair and generate the same top quality repairs that T.A.C.S. has become so well known for.
In addition to the daily business of auto collision repair, the owners of T.A.C.S. continue to be involved in many aspects of the local community including the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scout Troop 75, as well as participating as a sponsor for several different community events each year.
